The Tarantura label have added to their catalogue with some recent and not so recent recordings lately;
“Lived In Journey – Osaka 2014” is one of the shows played in the Japanese city on Eric Clapton’s tour through the Far East. A 2 CD set trumped ats the best recordings of this show. As usual with Tarantura’s releases – it’s limited to only 150 in number.
Continuing the ‘front row’ series that started last month with,er, “Front Row Vol. 1” comes “Farewell Budokan – Front Row Vol. 2”. Recorded on Friday, February 28th at Tokyo’s famed venue on the following night, this 4 CD set comes from one taper, Maiko, handling 2 recorders – Source A: Roland R-05 WAVE / MP 3 Recorder, Source B: Olympus Linear PCM Recorder – both recordings superb quality.
The Deep Purple release, “Romantic And Picturesque” comes from the groups show on Saturday November 28, 1970 at the
Heidelberg Universitat, Heidelberg in Germany. A single CD set, it is limited to 100 copies.
Led Zeppelin, “The Perfect Blues Live” is a single disk set featuring 12 tracks but 6 songs – the 6 are repeated but the label have chosen to use noise reduction on this audience recording master. As the tape is short, the two versions fit neatly on to one disk, doing away with the extraneous 2nd CD that some labels might insist on.
The label have again chosen to release 150 in the set but split their release in to a selection utilising A, B & C covers – collect all three or grab your favourite choice!
