I just got the Van Halen 1984 live show Wed., and although it’s great overall & highly recommended, I find it somewhat disappointing that, like the Bondage version or opposite of Zodiac’s previous version (Zodiac 297), it’s still rather thin & lacking bass.
I could say more, but it feels rather pointless because it seems that no one here is even bothering to read any of the msgs. that I post. Is there anybody out there? This place so often feels as if it were a ghost town after I post anything…
I read your posts. If I don’t respond it’s because I may not have an answer for you or don’t have any knowledge on the particular subject you’re talking/asking about.
Thank you for that, wgpsec – I appreciate it.
I haven’t actually heard any of it yet, but that Van Halen Zodiac 609 is likely to be highly recommended. It should be a significant upgrade of the Bondage label’s “Van Halen Rapes Stockholm” that I got last year, which wasn’t so bad but was way too thin (needs much more bass), & Zodiac’s own previous “Stockholm 1984” (Zodiac 297), which I’ve never heard but has been said to be slightly more clear than the Bondage version, but way too bass-heavy, plus runs just a little bit too fast (approx. 2% faster than it should be).
The new Zodiac 609 has been rated as having “TRULY PERFECT SOUND” by Lighthouse, with Disc 1 approx. 50:17 & Disc 2 approx. 34:56, which means that roughly 55 seconds or so of small gaps have been patched with the alternate source, which is rather unlikely to come from Jimmy Hoffa, who was a little more than 29 years old during The Battles of The Coral Sea & Midway in late spring of 1942, according to one of Stuart’s friends.
