I like the look of this 2cd version of Cream’s BBC sessions. The official 1 disc version is excellent but does leave you wondering, what did they leave out? I guess this Beano release will go some way to answering that question! The BBC sessions offer a valuable glimpse of Cream playing ‘live’ songs in the studio, but still in a short disciplined form – a focused contrast to their marathon jam-pieces in the concert arena.
